In March, 2016 the District obtained the prestigious Certificate of Excellence in Assessment Administration (CEAA) from the International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO).  In order to maintain this designation, the District must recertify every 5 years.  In July, 2022 the District was notified that it had successfully passed its recertification.  There are only 11 appraisal districts in Texas with the CEAA designation, and JCAD was the 7th appraisal district in Texas to obtain this designation.
